50's fashion transformed step by step into the simpler and more and more striking shapes and colours of the 60's. Jacqueline Kennedy gradually became as influential as the Queen.

There was more designer and luxury clothing and on the other side of town rockers in their 50’s and 60’s leather bike jackets.

Hemlines went up and necklines down as women’s clothes became more revealing. A sign of economic boom.

This was an era of ambitious, bold and aggressive mass production and big corporations. The economics of mass production were now clearly visible. Not as many colours. More straight seams.

Then the end of the decade suddenly went Edwardian and psychedelic. The Teddy boy, Hippie and Mod came to town, all ready for the 70’s
