There were still hundreds of names for colours and when each could be worn according to complexion, occasion and social status.
Clothes were still fitted to accommodate postural and body shape and asymmetry.
The Collection's 1800's clothes and accessories are almost all Victorian and mostly from around the turn of the century. Some came into the country with immigrants but most were made in Australia. Styles and build are almost all English.
There are 19th century antique Men’s and women’s clothes, dresses, skirts, bodices, purses, accessories, umbrellas, shoes, hats, bags and gloves.
